Last year, our school proudly won the EPAS quiz, providing 24 students with the invaluable opportunity to travel abroad to Strasbourg and participate in an interactive experience as Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). In addition to this remarkable experience, our school recently had the distinct honour of welcoming the President of the European Parliament, Dr Roberta Metsola.

Following an introductory speech by our Vice President of the Student Council, Dr Metsola was invited to address the students. She offered words of inspiration and valuable advice, after which she personally presented certificates to the winners of the EPAS quiz. The visit continued with an engaging Q&A session, during which Dr Metsola candidly shared her personal experiences, highlighting the challenges and realities of being a woman in public life. She spoke openly about the obstacles she has faced—particularly those related to gender inequality—and emphasized the importance of standing firm in one’s beliefs.

Dr Metsola then visited a number of classrooms before concluding her visit to our newly designated European Parliament Ambassador School. Her presence left a lasting impression on both staff and students. She conveyed the significance of perseverance and determination, encouraged us to strive for our best, and inspired all present through her confident yet humble manner of speaking.

As an all-girls school, we are especially proud to have hosted such an empowering female role model. Dr Metsola’s achievements and character are truly admirable and serve as a source of motivation for all our students.
